ザ・キンクス（The Kinks）の48曲入り廉価ベスト・アルバム『The Essential Kinks』が海外で10月14日発売。Pye、Reprise、RCA、Arista、Columbiaと、レーベルの垣根を越えたバンドのほぼ全キャリアを対象にしたバンド公認のベスト盤で、選曲はレイ・デイヴィス（Ray Davies）が担当しています。ブックレットにはデヴィッド・ボウイ（David Bowie）が新たに寄せたライナーノートや写真などが掲載される予定です。リリース元はLegacy/Sony
