スタジオ・アルバムの発表は2009年の『Years of Refusal』以来。リリース元は新たに契約を結んだHarvest/Capitol。プロデューサーにはジョー・チッカレリ（Joe Chiccarelli／the White Stripes, Beck, the Strokes）を起用しており、レコーディングには長年のコラボレーターであるギタリストのBoz Boorerのほか、Jesse Tobias（g）、Gustavo Manzur（key）、Solomon Walker（b）、Matthew Walker（dr）、Gustavo Manzur（ey）といった自身のツアー・バンドの面々が参加しています

なお、iTunesではボーナストラック6曲を加えたデラックス・ヴァージョンのプレオーダーおよびタイトル曲のDL発売が開始されています
