エコー＆ザ・バニーメン（Echo and the Bunnymen）は、英BBC Radio 1の名物DJだったジョン・ピールの番組で演奏したパフォーマンスを収めたアルバム『The John Peel Sessions 1979-1983』を海外で9月6日に発売します。1979年から1983年までの計21トラックを収録。

アルバムはCDとアナログレコード2枚組があり。アナログレコードは通常のブラック・ヴァイナルと、500枚限定のカラーヴァイナル（レッド）が用意されています。リリース元はRhino。

バンドのギタリストであるウィル・サージェント（Will Sergeant）は、「ジョン・ピール・セッションがなければ、エコー＆ザ・バニーメンは存在しなかったと思う。バンドは彼とジョン・ウォルターズ（ピールのプロデューサー）から多大な支援を受けた。ピール・セッションを録音することは俺たちのソングライティング・スキルの発展に不可欠であると同時に、素晴らしい露出と自信を与えてくれた」とコメントしています。
