マイルス・デイヴィス（Miles Davis）の人生と音楽に関する新たなオフィシャル・ドキュメンタリー映画『Miles Davis: Birth Of The Cool』。サウンドトラック・アルバム『Music From And Inspired By Miles Davis: Birth Of The Cool』が海外で12月6日発売。アルバムにはマイルス・デイヴィスの楽曲とともに、この映画からのコメント音声の抜粋も収録されます。

映画の監督は、過去3度のエミー賞受賞歴を誇るスタンリー・ネルソン。

マイルス・デイヴィス財団のかつてないほどの協力のもと制作されたこの映画には、数々のスタジオ・セッションからの未発表のアウトテイク映像や、クインシー・ジョーンズ（Quincy Jones）、ハービー・ハンコック（Herbie Hancock）、カルロス・サンタナ（Carlos Santana）、クライヴ・デイヴィス（Clive Davis）、ウェイン・ショーター（Wayne Shorter）、ロン・カーター（Ron Carter）らの最新インタビューなどが含まれています。

映画は、今年初めの＜サンダンス映画祭＞でプレミア上映。今夏より米国の映画館で上映されています。
