グレイトフル・デッド結成60周年記念、未発表ライヴ音源60時間を収めた60CDボックスセットから「The Music Never Stopped」公開

グレイトフル・デッド（Grateful Dead）の結成60周年を記念してリリースされる、60時間分の未発表ライヴ音源を収めたCD60枚組ボックスセット『Enjoying the Ride』から「The Music Never Stopped (Live in Philadelphia, PA, 5/13/78)」が公開されています。この音源はボックスセットのエディット版『The Music Never Stopped』にも収録されます。



CD60枚組ボックスセット『Enjoying the Ride』の販売はDead.netのみで、数量限定で販売されます。発売日は5月30日。6,000セット限定。リリース元はRhino Records。

1969年から1994年にかけてのライヴ・パフォーマンスを収めており、プレスリリースによると、収録曲は「ほぼ」すべてが未発表音源だという。20の会場で行われた公演から、450曲に及ぶ60時間以上の楽曲が収録されており、そのうち17公演は完全版で提供されます。

「25年間にわたる伝説的なライヴ・パフォーマンスを網羅したこのコレクションは、1969年から1994年にかけて、ウィンターランド、フロスト・アンフィシアター、マディソン・スクエア・ガーデン、ハンプトン・コロシアムなど、バンドを常に新たな高みへと導いた20の会場で行われた、代表的なライヴに焦点を当てています。フィルモア・ウェストの親密な空間でも、レッド・ロックの屋外ステージでも、グレイトフル・デッドは同じライヴを2度行うことはありませんでした。『Enjoying the Ride』は、その冒険心あふれる精神を証明するスリリングな証です。

過去にリリースされた数曲を除き、『Enjoying the Ride』に収録されている音楽は、ほぼすべてが未発表であり、450曲以上、60時間以上の音楽が収録されています。コレクションに収録された20の会場のうち、17の会場の公演はフル収録されており、いくつかの公演では同じ会場での追加の素材も含まれています。残りの3つ会場、フィルモア・ウェスト、フィルモア・イースト、ボストン・ミュージック・ホールは、各会場で行われた複数の公演から厳選されており、伝説的なステージでの重要な瞬間を捉えています」

また、『Enjoying the Ride』に含まれる全て公演から少なくとも1曲を3枚のCDまたは6枚のLPに収録したエディット版『The Music Never Stopped』が5月30日にRhinoから発売されます。
