ナイン・インチ・ネイルズ（Nine Inch Nails）のトレント・レズナー（Trent Reznor）が、彼の妻マリクィーン・マンディグ、長年のコラボレーターであるアティカス・ロス、アート・ディレクターのロブ・シェリダンと組むユニット、ハウ・トゥ・デストロイ・エンジェルズ（How to Destroy Angels）。米国で3月5日、日本で3月6日に発売するデビュー・フル・アルバム『Welcome oblivion』の収録曲「And the Sky Began to Scream」の音源がYouTubeに



本作は『How to Destroy Angels』（2010年）『An Omen』（2012年）と、2枚のEPをリリースしてきた彼ら初のフル・アルバム。米国ではColumbia Records、日本ではSony Musicからのリリース。海外で発売されるLP版にはボーナストラック2曲が追加されます。
