ドリーム・シアターの公式ブートレグシリーズ第19弾はアルバム『Falling Into Infinity』のメイキング音源

ドリーム・シアター（Dream Theater）がライヴ、デモ、スタジオ・アウトテイクなどの秘蔵音源を公式ブートレグとしてリリースするシリーズ「Lost Not Forgotten Archives」。その第19弾は、1997年に発表した4thアルバム『Falling Into Infinity』のレコーディング過程を記録したメイキング音源で、日本では4月5日、海外では4月7日に発売されます。

このアルバムの完成に至る道のりには様々なエピソードが渦巻いており、制作方針やプロデューサー選定におけるレーベルとの意見の相違、メンバーの親族の度重なる死や新たな生命の誕生など、この時期は「感情のローラーコースター状態だった」（メンバー談）という。そして、ようやく辿り着いたレコーディング・スタジオでの生々しい録音ドキュメントがここにある。プロデュースはケヴィン・シャーリー（エアロスミス、ジャーニー、アイアン・メイデンetc.）が務め、ダーク＆ヘヴィなアグレッシヴ・スタイルを打ち出した前作『アウェイク』から一転、ポップ・センスを散りばめたヴァラエティ豊かな楽曲構成で、間口の広さが魅力の１枚となった。本メイキング音源は、アルバムが発売された1997年のクリスマスにファンクラブ会員向けに配布され、その後2009年に自身のレーベルYtsejamレコーズより生産限定で発売していたが、このたび最新マスタリングと新アートワーク、日本盤は高品質Blu-spec CD2仕様での復刻となる。
