ディープ・パープル（Deep Purple）『Machine Head』の発売40周年を記念したThe 40th Anniversary Edition。アルバムの2012年リマスター音源が全曲フル試聴可



今回は英EMIからのリイシューで、CD4枚＋DVD1枚のボックスセット仕様。

各ディスクは『Machine Head』の仕様違いで、CD1には2012年リマスター版を、CD2にはロジャー・グローヴァーによる1997年ミックス版を、CD3には2012年リマスターのQuad SQ stereo版を、DVDにはハイレゾ・リマスター＆サラウンド・ミックス版をそれぞれ収録。またCD4には72年3月ロンドン公演のライヴ盤『In Concert '72』の2012mix版が収められる予定です。

ボックスには60ページのハードカバー本も同梱されます。

発売は英国で10月15日。なお、1CD、LP版もあり
