ジェスロ・タル『War Child』の発売40周年記念盤からオーケストラ演奏による未発表音源「The Orchestral WarChild Theme」が試聴可

ジェスロ・タル（Jethro Tull）が1974年にリリースしたアルバム『War Child』。発売40周年を記念した2CD＋2DVDデラックス・エディション（40th Anniversary Theatre Edition）からオーケストラ演奏による未発表音源「The Orchestral WarChild Theme」が試聴可。頓挫した本作の映画化プロジェクト用に制作されていたサウンドトラックからの未発表音源（オーケストラ演奏）です。



今回のエディションも、『Thick as a Brick（邦題：ジェラルドの汚れなき世界）』『A Passion Play』の発売40周年記念盤と同様に、ポーキュパイン・トゥリー（Porcupine Tree）のスティーヴン・ウィルソン（Steven Wilson）が手がけた新ミックス音源を今回も採用。CDにはニュー・ステレオ・ミックスを、DVDには5.1サラウンド・サウンドほかを収めます。

CD、DVD（Audio）ともに未発表音源を含んだボーナス・トラックを追加。なかには、頓挫した本作の映画化プロジェクト用に制作されていたサウンドトラックからの未発表音源（オーケストラ演奏）もあり。

発売は海外で11月24日。同日にはニュー・ステレオ・ミックスを収めたCD単品版も発売される予定。また2015年1月12日にはLP単品版も発売されます

日本では2CD版（SHM-CD仕様）は2015年01月21日に発売されます。

- Flat transfers of the original LP mix at 96/24, and the quadrophonic version (with 2 bonus tracks) in 4.0.

- “The Third Hoorah” promo footage, and footage from a January 1974 photo session/press conference where the WarChild project was announced.

- An 80-page booklet featuring an extensive article on the preparation and recording of the album, a film script synopsis, track-by-track annotations by Ian Anderson, plus rare and unseen photographs.

* Six additional orchestral recordings (five previously unreleased) mixed by Robin Black in 1974, now in 96/24 PCM stereo.
