エリック・クラプトンの新アルバム『I Still Do』にジョージ・ハリスンのギターとヴォーカルが収録か

エリック・クラプトン（Eric Clapton）の新アルバム『I Still Do』に、ジョージ・ハリスン（George Harrison）のアコースティック・ギターとヴォーカルが収録される模様。クラプトンが公式サイトで発表した参加ミュージシャンのクレジットの中に「Angelo Mysterioso - Acoustic Guitar & Vocals on “I Will Be There”」があり、この“Angelo Mysterioso”はジョージの変名だとオーストラリアの音楽サイトnoise11などが指摘しています。ジョージは“L'Angelo Misterioso”という別名義を持っていたことでも知られています。

アルバムは海外で5月20日発売。リリース元はクラプトン自身のBushbranch RecordsとSurfdog Records。

2013年の『Old Sock』、2014年のJ.J.ケイルへのトリビュート作品『The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale』に続く通算23作目のソロ・アルバム。

1977年の『Slowhand』と翌78年の『Backless』を手がけたグリン・ジョンズを久々にプロデューサーに起用。アルバムにはボブ・ディラン（Bob Dylan）「I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine」やロバート・ジョンソン（Robert Johnson）「Stones in My Passway」のカヴァーのほか、クラプトン自身によるオリジナル曲も収録されます。レコーディングにはヘンリー・スピネッティ（Dr）、デイヴ・ブロンズ（B）、アンディ・フェアウェザー・ロウ（G）、ポール・キャラック（organist）らが参加。

アルバム・ジャケットアートには、ビートルズ『Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band』を手がけたことで知られるピーター・ブレイクによるクラプトンのイラストレーションを採用しています。

クラプトンは、「これはグリン・ジョンズと再び共に働く長いこと延び延びになっていた機会でした。そして同じく、ついでに、Slowhand の40周年記念です」と本作について述べています
