ボブ・ディラン、1970年の未発表音源「Went to See the Gypsy (Take 6)」公開

ボブ・ディラン（Bob Dylan）は、1970年の未発表音源「Went to See the Gypsy (Take 6)」を自身のYouTubeチャンネルで公開しています。



ディランは、この「Went to See the Gypsy (Take 6)」や、伝説的なジョージ・ハリスン（George Harrison）とのセッションも含んだ1970年の未発表音源を収めたCD3枚組ボックスセット『Bob Dylan - 50th Anniversary Collection 1970』を、予告なしに英国のレコード店Badlandsにて11月29日に数量限定でリリースしています。

当然ながら即完売となった超限定コレクション『Bob Dylan - 50th Anniversary Collection 1970』は、著作権所有者によって正式にリリースされていない場合、録音物が作成されてから50年後にパブリックドメイン（著作権の保護期間が終了した著作物）になることを定めたヨーロッパの法律に対応してリリースされています。

EUは2011年に音楽著作権の保護期間を録音後50年から70年に延長するルールを採用しましたが、著作権保護を継続して受けるためには、録音から50年以内にリリースしていなければなりません。50年経過してもリリースされていない録音は保護の延長の対象外（＝パブリックドメイン）となります。

ボブ・ディランの陣営は、合法的なブートレグが市場に氾濫するのを避けるため、2012年以降、毎年著作権保護目的の作品をリリースしています。

『Bob Dylan - 50th Anniversary Collection 1970』には、1970年5月1日に行われたディランとジョージ・ハリスンのセッションを完全収録。2人は、ディラン「One Too Many Mornings」やビートルズ「Yesterday」、そして当時制作中だった『New Morning』楽曲などを演奏。このセッションの音源は何年も前からブートレグとして出回っていますが、音質は大幅にアップグレードされたものと思われます。この作品にはこのほか、『New Morning』セッションからの録音も収録されています。

「Went to See the Gypsy (Take 6)」が一般発売されるかはまだ発表されていません。
