デヴィッド・ボウイ、ジョン・レノン＆ボブ・ディランの未発表カヴァー音源を74回目の誕生日にリリース

デヴィッド・ボウイ（David Bowie）のこれまでにリリースされていないジョン・レノン（John Lennon）「Mother」とボブ・ディラン（Bob Dylan）「Tryin’ to Get to Heaven」のカヴァー音源が、ボウイの74回目の誕生日となる2021年1月8日に限定7インチ・シングルレコードとして発売されます。

7インチシングル盤は、ボウイが生まれた1947年1月8日（8/1/47）にちなみ、限定8147枚のみ（シリアル番組付き）。うち1000枚はボウイの公式ショップストアとワーナーミュージック系のショップストアからのみ入手可能なクリーム色のカラーヴァイナル仕様です。残りは通常のブラック・ヴァイナルです。2曲ともデジタル／ストリーミングでもリリースされます。リリース元はParlophone/ISO Records。

ボウイによるジョン・レノン「Mother」のカヴァーは、1998年にトニー・ヴィスコンティ（Tony Visconti）のプロデュースで、ジョン・レノンのトリビュート・アルバムのために録音されたもの。このトリビュート・アルバムは最終的にリリースされませんでした。

ボブ・ディラン「Tryin’ to Get to Heaven」のカヴァーは、1998年2月にライヴ・アルバム『LiveAndWell.com』のミキシング・セッション中に録音されたものです。
