デフ・レパードの新ボックスセット『The Early Years 79-81』発売、1曲試聴可

デフ・レパード（Def Leppard）の新たなボックスセット『The Early Years 79-81』が3月20日に世界同時発売。リリース元はUMC/Virgin。

このボックス・セットは、1stアルバム『On Through the Night』（1980年）、2ndアルバム『High 'N' Dry』（1981年）のオリジナル・アルバムに加えて、B面曲、リミックス、BBCレコーディング、レディング・フェスティヴァルのライヴ、今回初の収録および新たにミックスされた1980年のオックスフォードからの音源を収録したCD5枚組。ジョー・エリオット（Joe Elliott）がプロデュースをつとめ、ローナン・マクヒューがマスタリングを担当しています。

またボックスにはバンド・メンバーの回想や、当時の歴史をフィーチャーしたポール・エリオットによるライナー、レアな写真の数々やメモラビリアを掲載したブックレットも付属されます。

ジョー・エリオットはこの作品について

「たくさんのファンからリクエストされたので、その要望に応えました！ 今回は初期の曲を数多くのレア音源と共に新たなかたちでお届けできるので、本当に興奮しています。ここに収録したレア音源の中には、新たに発掘されたオックスフォード・ニュー・シアターでのライヴもある。これは1980年のイギリス・ツアーで収録されたもの……。このボックス・セットをまとめる作業はものすごく刺激的な経験でした。ファンのみんなが、俺たちと同じくらいこのセットを楽しんでくれることを願っています」
