R.E.M.が英BBCに残した音源・映像をレア／未発表なものを含んで収めたCD8枚＋DVD1枚のボックスセット『R.E.M. At The BBC』。この作品からトム・ヨーク（Thom Yorke）参加の「E-Bow The Letter feat. Thom Yorke (Live From St. James’s Church, London, 2004)」が公開。試聴可



ボックスセットは海外で10月19日発売。

ボックスには、BBCとR.E.M.のアーカイブから厳選された、レアおよび未発表ライヴ＆スタジオ・セッションを数多く収録。

CDのスタジオ・セッションはJohn Peel Session （1998年）やRadio 1『Live Lounge』（2008年）などを、ライヴ・パフォーマンスは1984年ノッティンガムRock City公演、1995年＜Monster Tour＞のミルトン・ケインズ公演、1999年＜グラストンベリー・フェス＞のヘッドライナー、2004年のロンドン・セント・ジェームズ教会公演などをそれぞれ収録。

DVDには、BBCで放送された60分のドキュメンタリー『Automatic Unearthed』（英国でのみ放送、初商品化）や、『Later... with Jools Holland』『Top of the Pops』などのTVパフォーマンス映像を収録。ドキュメンタリーにはピーター・バック（Peter Buck）、マイク・ミルズ（Mike Mills）、マイケル・スタイプ（Michael Stipe）のインタビューも含まれています。

ボックスセットと同日にはベスト・コレクション・アルバム『The Best of R.E.M. at the BBC』がCDとアナログレコードでリリースされます。いずれも2枚組。
